A new blog!

Allow me to introduce the armchair sports fan‘s little brother.

I have set up a new blog – Armchair sports chat – as a place where a small (but perfectly formed) group of friends and fellow sports fans can share their thoughts on the big, wide world of sport and generally exchange opinions, banter and bare-faced insults without the need for the police or subsequent A&E treatment.

The intention is for this new site to complement the more considered and in-depth nature of this blog. It will be more informal, punchier and have more of the immediacy of Twitter, but without the restrictions of a 140-character limit. (At least, that’s what the marketing men told me to say.)

The forum also allows live updating, permitting quality real-time commentary and insight on those occasions when you’re forced to watch ITV and want to kill (or at least mute) Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend – so you may find the occasional live-blog going on too.

The team behind this blog is made up of a group of passionate fans, who between them follow pretty much every major sport under the sun (and a whole load of minor ones too), so if you’re looking for variety and the opportunity to expand your horizons, then please stick with us!
Think of it as like being down the pub setting the world to rights with your mates, but with cheaper beer, cleaner toilets, no long stagger home – and available 24/7. What more could you possibly want?
